A Guide to Cologne

Europe > Germany > Cologne

It's a Feeling

“Cologne is a Feeling”, is the slogan coined by the local tourist office and a very apt one liner describing this city. The feeling most certainly comes to fruition upon sight of it's world famous cathedral. With dominating twin spires, this is a number one attraction for visitors. There is a big art scene here and just behind the cathedral, you will find the Ludwig museum which houses some fabulous contemporary art including a few Andy Warhol’s. For all you lovers out there you might want to pop down to the Hohenzollern Bridge where thousands of locks have been placed on the railings by many a visitor. It’s a wonderful way of leaving your mark on the place and for an even bigger mark, there are many shops nearby that provide the service of lock engravings. For all you chocoholics out there, bring yourselves on down to the chocolate museum and see how this delicious treat is made. You will find much laid back and friendly folk in Cologne and it’s a place for a good time along with the many beer halls and the annual springtime carnival that provides plenty of fun for all.
